About the Position

MPRC-IT is looking for a bright and talented individual who will take on a key role in realizing our Mobile Development initiatives. This position is aimed towards a high skilled person, with strong analytical and creative skills and a deep passion for mentorship and help. The role will be on MPRC-IT Technology and Solutions team and will report directly to the Technology and Solutions Head.

Roles and Responsibilities

The Xamarin Mobile Developer will be primarily responsible for:

·         Development of cross-platform apps for iOS, Android, MacOS and UWP

·         Create and maintain Unit tests, Mock tests, UI tests and Integration tests

·         Create and maintain backend services and databases (Azure)

·         Create and maintain RESTful services, SQL/NON-SQL DBs, push notification services, and other device specific services

·         Maintain existing Continuous Integration system for continuous delivery of apps

·         Participate in architecting, brainstorming and other idea-generating team sessions

·         Work with Project Managers, Developers and Designers to ensure project completion within budgetary and time constraints

·         Provide support for QA, training, and technical support

·         Provide junior team members with ongoing advice and guidance

·         Multi-task and work efficiently under pressure, with careful attention to detail

Essential skills

·         5+ years of object-oriented programming experience with C# language

·         4+ years of experience contributing to the architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability, and testability) of new and current systems

·         3+ years of experience with cross-platform Mobile development using Xamarin Forms framework

·         2+ years of experience developing backend services on Azure or similar

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills

·         Desire to learn emerging technologies and embrace continuous professional development

·         Strong problem solving/coding skills

·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or relevant field

Preferred Competencies

·         Experience building mobile apps delivered to the Apple and Android stores

·         Success in delivery of mobile apps and backend services

·         Experience mentoring and training others on complex technical issues

·         Proven ability to take a project from scoping requirements through to launch of the project

·         Solid coding practices, including good design documentation, unit testing, peer code reviews, and a strong preference for agile methodology

·         Sharp analytical abilities and proven design skills

·         Strong sense of ownership, urgency, and drive, and a track record of delivery

·         Passion for building new products in a fast paced, team-oriented environment

·         Strong communication abilities (both written and verbal English)

·         Be a quick learner and demonstrate ability to adapt to change (Agile mindset)
