Gearbulk is an international shipping company which, through it’s various companies, interests and joint ventures, provides high quality transportation services for various industrial sectors.
One of Gearbulk’s joint venture companies – G2 Ocean – operates the world's largest fleet of open hatch gantry craned vessels as well as open hatch jib craned vessels, specifically designed to transport unitised cargoes such as forest products, non-ferrous metals and steel. G2 Ocean is also involved in the transportation of conventional bulk and project cargoes.
Gearbulk operates a number of highly specialist vessels for the ocean transportation of cargoes such as liquid pitch, orange juice and caustic soda, as well as a floating terminal.
Gearbulk and its related companies always aim to provide high quality, flexible, customised transportation services to our customers. Our success has been built on being able to deliver innovative, cost-effective and sustainable ocean transport solutions.
When Gearbulk began operations in 1968, open hatch gantry crane vessel technology was only five years old. This technology offered great promise for operators who had the foresight to see what could result from deploying these innovative self-loading and discharge ships in underdeveloped regions. Gearbulk was one of those pioneers. Since then, innovation has been a key driver of our business success, often in cooperation with like-minded business partners.
Over the years our services have evolved with our customer's needs. Through our terminals in North America, Malaysia, Brazil, and Belgium, and through strategic relationships with operators of feeder services, surface transport and other marine services around the world, our extensive supply chain management portfolio adds value.
